The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival committee will begin accepting performance applications from artists who wish to play at the outdoor Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival to be held on Saturday, September 26, 2015. Submissions will be accepted from January 2, 2015, through January 30, 2015.
Please note: January 2, 2015, through January 30, 2015, is the only time submissions will be accepted.
To be considered as a performing artist at the 2015 outdoor Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival, send your contact information (name, address, phone number, email) and an electronic press kit or a link for watching or streaming audio—no mp3s and nothing that needs to be downloaded. Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival T-Shirt Design Contest
The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival is excited to announce its first annual t-shirt competition. The winning t-shirt design will be produced and sold as the official festival t-shirt at the event. It will be produced in both male and female sizes.
About the Festival
The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival takes place on September 28, 2013. The outdoor festival draws roughly 70,000 people, stretches six blocks down Columbus Avenue in Boston’s historic South End, and features three stages of live music, arts, crafts, unique gifts, and the Natixis Family Park.
Designs should be submitted electronically via email to email@example.com with “BeanTown t-shirt Contest” in the subject line. We cannot accept hard copies or originals. Please include the name of the t-shirt and t-shirt designer in your email. Entries submitted without this information will not be accepted.
Designs must be submitted in eps vector art as well as jpg file in full resolution.
Design and Theme:
Your design should reflect this year’s theme, Jazz: The Next Generation. The focus is on mentoring and cultivating young musicians. The design must include the festival name and date: 13th Annual Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival, September 28, 2013. The design must be limited to a maximum of five colors (not including the t-shirt color). Artists are encouraged to suggest t-shirt colors for their design (It is preferred that the male and female t-shirts are different colors). Use of the Berklee logo is not allowed. All art must be original. By submitting your artwork via this process, you are giving Berklee College of Music and the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival permission to use your design for merchandise sale and promotion.
The deadline for submissions is July 6, 2013.
The Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival committee will evaluate entries based on general aesthetics and creativity of design. Results will be sent by email to the winner by August 23. The winner will be asked to provide a written description of the t-shirt.
The winner will also receive a one-of-a-kind messenger bag made from the Berklee BeanTown Jazz Festival Street Pole Banners. The winner’s biography and art will be featured on beantownjazz.org, as well as in our online program book.
